The Run for A Safe Climate is raising funds for Safe Climate Australia, and you are able to sponsor the runners or make a tax deductible donation directly for this organisation, through our partner Climate Positive. Safe Climate Australia is an a-political, solutions-focused, non-government organisation formed and steered by a group of concerned scientists, community and business leaders with a shared understanding of the great risks of global warming and the need to have a practical plan to deal with this problem.
Safe Climate Australia will deliver an essential piece of scenario and risk-management planning for the Australian economy, in the form of the Safe Climate Transition Plan. This practical, costed plan will encompass an all-sector approach to reducing carbon pollution in Australia, including stationary energy, energy efficiency, housing and commercial buildings, transport, industrial and extraction processes, land use and agriculture.
The plan will also detail how Australia can most effectively work to sequester large volumes of existing atmospheric carbon pollution that are already driving dangerous global warming, in order to reduce atmospheric carbon levels back to those we know are more likely to be safe.
The plan will be developed with the intention of protecting and enhancing the key economic, social and environmental parameters of Australian society, including the maintenance of a high standard of living, security of energy and food supply, access to mobility and comfort and well-being for all.
Note: The founding partner for Safe Climate Australia (ABN 27137533469) is Climate Positive (ABN 21305472816, DGR status), a not-for-profit which works with business and households to achieve long-term solutions to global warming. Climate Positive is one organisation commissioning the research of Safe Climate Australia, and this research will assist with climate education programs. All funds donated are directed to the activities and goals of Safe Climate Australia and are tax deductible.
